Drove out to Baddeck yesterday to visit the yarn store out there. I had originally found Baadeck Yarns online (www.baadeckyarns.com) and thought 'Wow. HAVE to visit this place.' AND OMG it's a fabulous little store. It's got sooooo much. I love it... will have to go back later in the summer to get more yarns for more projects ^.^
I found one, the Araucania Ruca. Hand-dyed, all-natural, $20/skein, and made from sugarcane.
OMG Sugarcane?!
That's what I said too... but it's sooooo soft, I had to have it...
Its spring in Atlantic Canada. It can go from being 15C to 5C very very quickly, and I need a light weight glove for days when the weathers unpredictable like that. But as I know most of you who may actually read this, you already knew that :-P
Anyway, the yarn was kind of an impulse buy, but the glove idea has been lingering in my mind the last couple weeks so I started searching patterns and found Fetching ([link]) and thought doing it in a light weight multi-coloured yarn for the spring would be fun We shall soon see.

They knew we were lying, but they smiled just the same.
